Description

RA 2000 Thermostatic Radiator Valves regulate the flow of hot water or low pressure steam through free-standing radiators, baseboards, or convectors in hot water and two-pipe steam systems. The Danfoss 013G8250 is the RA2000 Thermostatic Radiator Valve Operator with a valve mounted dial and a built-in sensor. The RA 2000 thermostatic operator consists of a saturated vapor charged bellows and a setting dial. The dial is set to the position equal to the desired temperature. When the ambient temperature lowers, the pressure from the bellows will reduce, allowing the valve to open. A rise of temperature increases the pressure in the bellows closing the valve. The balanced pressures between the adjustment spring and the bellows ensure a smooth and modulating operation of the valve. Danfoss RA 2000 are manufactured to the highest quality standards in an ISO 9001 factory.

I did buy this product twice!

Ordered it the first time for one of my radiators that was malfunctioning and it was so easy to put on that I decided to upgrade another thermostat. Appreciate the fast service and the ease of the directions to swap out the old and replace with the new.

I would use this company again.

We needed a part for an older baseboard heat. Supply House had the part we needed and sent it out very quickly. I would definitely use them again.

Q: IS THIS DIRECT MOUNT OPERATOR FOR THE 013G0140 DANFOSS VALVE? IF YES, THEN HOW DOES THE 013G0140 CONTROL THE TEMPERATURE WITHOUT THIS OPERATOR?

The valve comes with a small gray adjustment knob that you can use to manually adjust the temperature. The controller replaces the basic knob and adjusts the temperature automatically. The valve in the room with the thermostat must use the basic knob, and the other rooms can take either type - but the automatic type is the real key to the system "self-balancing" the temperature in each room.

I believe the operator is required to set the temp.

The valve provides the mechanical mechanism to shut off the water supply - but the operator senses the temperature and operates the valve. One is useless without the other. Gavin Eyre

I looked at the supplied link at the install instructions and this valve will work. This is the link: http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/***.****03/44329_PROD_FILE.pdf The quality on the valve and operator is top notch. I have had them installed for 3 years and they are still working great.

Without this operator the 013G0140 valve acts the same as a manual valve. It never shuts off when the desired temp is reached. It just keeps putting out heat, add this operator and it will turn off when set temp is reached and turn back on when room temp goes below set temp.

It controls the temperature well as long as the valve is not enclosed inside a radiator cover. If this is the case, you need a remote actuator.

You just twist the base of the knob and it slides right on the valve body. It can be positioned in two orientations which are 180 degrees apart so that you can always see the numbers on the dial to know what temperature you are setting the radiator to.

Q: I am a property manager and have an apartment building with 150 or so danfoss TRV's in 26 residential units. Each year a radiator or two will not shut off and provides constant heat whike the boiler is running. The TRVs are only 4 or so years old, is there a way to clean them out or do I need to replace the head or part of the head? Is there any regular maintenance that needs to be done on these heads? Thanks

There is no maintenance that needs to be done for this product. Just check to make sure they are all tight because of the spring inside.
