I have now made my second purchase of this item!

My first unit only lasted about 2 years before it failed to circulate water in my 3 zone residential boiler for my home. (In my opinion, a pump in this application should last for MANY YEARS before it fails.) I ordered another identical pump to get my boiler back up and running to heat my home here in Minnesota. (It's NOT uncommon for us to get Sub Zero temps. In our winter season.) If a pump like this unit would perform and last for at least 5 years, I then would have rated it with a FULL 5 STARS!

I would buy, or sell, this product again.

I installed a pair of these in my hot water heating system, replacing a couple of antique 1/12 HP Bell & Gosset circulators. No more oiling, coupler replacement, or motor mount replacement. Less noise. They are now 32 years old. Painted blue, believe it or not. Today, for the first time, one of them didn't start when called. A couple of taps with a hammer, and it started right up. That's the pump's lifetime service record, so far. The other one has never failed to start. Uses about 1/4 the electricity of the B&Gs. I've been installing Grundfos pumps, of all shapes and sizes, ever since ever since.

so far so good

Sales rep was courteous and timely in locating the right replacement pump and the plumber installed it. So far so good. I saved a bunch of $ - am so grateful. Now I want to know how to recycle the old part - good metal we don't need to be throwing away cuz there is no "away". Great pump, first one lasted 25 yrs. Lets get back to building to last and recycling and repairing jobs.

Good Product

My hot water heater circulating pump went out and I got quoted a very high price by a contractor. I found this equivalent pump online for substantially less cost. It shipped in a timely fashion and has been working well for a month now.

Great product

Had my old unit go ban after 13 year of use and placed the order for the replacement. Noticed it was not the same model number and called the support team to confirm it was the replacement. Came quickly as promised and they had THE BEST PRICE out of all the other sites I checked.

Q: I need to replace Grundfos UP 15-42 SF, but am only finding UP15-42F. Does the S stand for stainless? Would the UP 15-42F be the right replacement or another model? Thanks you.

Yes, The "S" denotes stainless steel. UP 15-42F is a cast iron pump. The recommended replacement in stainless would be the UPS15-35SFC pump: http://www.supplyhouse.com/Grundfos-59896772-UPS15-35SFC-Stainless-Steel-3-Speed-Flanged-Circulator-Pump-3-20-HP-115-V

Q: I currently have the UPS 15-42F 3 speed pump. I'm trying to find out what the flow rates are for each of the three speeds. I'm changing my heating source from a water heater to a micro boiler and need to make sure it will be compatible.

The flow rates vary depending on the feet of head, so there is a chart on page 2 of the submittal sheet for this pump that shows the ranges of the pump in each speed. This is located under the Resources section of the product page.

Q: I have the UP15-42. There's a BUC7 behind the number... Anyway, it's soldered directly into the piping with no flanges. Can i buy a new pump and just bolt the new pump to the existing housing? The part that's mated with 4 allen bolts.

I wouldn't suggest that. I would replace it and add flange connections to your piping.
