short life
I purchased two of these pumps for a customer for clear water sump application. I installed them on an alternating control panel so each recived equal use. The first pump went bad after 20 months and was easily replaced under warranty. The second pump went bad after 34 months. In both cases it appears that there was a break in the wiring near the connection to the pump. The wires were properly fastened to the riser pipe in a neat manor allowing some slack for movement. I have used many Grundfos products over the years and this is the only product I have ever experienced issues with so I don't know if it was a bad batch of cords or what, but for the price I expected much more from this pump. Ultimately this makes me look bad since I talked this customer into the pricier pumps rather the standard household sump pumps that they had used previously.
