CDU800 1/2 HP, Epoxy Coated Cast Iron Auto Submersible Sump Pump w/ Vertical Float Switch

I had to buy two of these for my house recently. My sump went out, then my septic lift station pump. Relative to the other pumps, this is the right price for a cast iron housing rather than a cheap plastic housing pump. The true test is the longevity of these pump. In looking at the spec sheet, these come with a 3 year warranty but are rated for a 6 year life expectancy. This is not specific to these pumps, just the nature of it. Even pumps with the longer warranty typically have a 6 year life expectancy. So this one is a good value for what you get, IMHO.

If you're being a cheapo like us and dropping it in a 5 gal pail, it has a nice guard to keep the float from sliding on the outside of the bucket and impeding movement. We have four of them installed and running, the oldest is two years, working hard daily. Lifts 12 feet without issue.

Good thing I installed this when I did works flawlessly during our spring flooding!

This pump does everything a sump pump is supposed to do.

I really hope the top inlet extends the life of this pump. I've had to replace a couple others. The pump has been working for a couple months - too early to tell. The float mechanism seems to be robust.

It is a workhorse. Works as expected, hope it works for years.

Replaced a local big box store sump pump with this one. This pump is faster and quieter. With the wet year we have had in PA, this cycles every few minutes and to date I have not had one issue - literature says tested to 1,000,000 cycles. We'll see.....

On the recommendation of a friend, I replaced a new, noisy, clunky, clicky, watery sounding big box store pump with this Wayne pump. The difference was remarkable. This is a fast, efficient, very quiet pump. I can barely hear it run. Jury is still out on durability as it has only been in place for a month.
