The TrueZONE® Bypass constant pressure regulating damper (CPRD) is a round static pressure relief damper. It is used in forced-air bypass applications to relieve excess static pressure when some of the zone dampers are closed.
Features
Quick installation and setup
No weight to adjust
Can be installed in any orientation
Engineered to provide constant system pressure regardless of changes in zones celling or blower speed
Great solution for zoned systems to relieve air pressure
My zoned system would only stage down so much, but not enough to cause loud air noise from vents and create back pressure. I added this to relieve the pressure and the noise went away and my plenum was no longer swollen when 1 zone was running. It was easy to set. I set it based on making the air flow quite in my loudest zone. Small turns on dial and it worked great. I added a duct to my shop to dump the extra air so I get some use out of it!

Works well
I have a dual zone system where the upstairs zone had a lot of pressure. This damper was easy to install and adjust to regulate the zones. Highly recommend

Useful product - instructions are misleading
I installed this damper for an HVAC zoned system. Since the instructions stated it could be installed in any orientation, I put it in where it was most accessible (pointing slightly down with the controller on the right).
It never opened for my system, even when reading a pressure of 0.6 and dialing the controller down to the minimum. I thought it was defective so had a replacement shipped to me. I then noticed that the new one behaved exactly the same.
So, I started experimenting. I realized that if I rotated the damper 180 degrees it would open (but still at a higher pressure than the setting on the controller). In the end - it's working well for my system but the instructions should state that the orientation may affect the accuracy of the controller set pressure.

Lives up to the recommendation from my HVAC Guy
My HVAC guy told me to purchase and install this. I dragged my feet, but after the heating season started and listening to the noisy air from the vents in the ceiling, I decided to take his advice. After installing this, we immediately noticed a better balance of heat between our two zones, quieter supply vents, consistent flow, etc. This is a must have for your system. The old unit i took out was a contractor grade mechanism and was not functioning properly at all. This rig is sturdy, easy to configure, and just works. THANK YOU!
Q: I would like to know the length of this damper.
Thank You
