No it does not control humidity, any of the Honeywell "IAQ" stats will control a humidifier or dehumidifier.
Yes an "R" and "Rc"
Yes, this thermostat has a feature called auto-changover where heating and cooling modes can be used in the course of the same day as long as the two temperatures are set at least 3 degrees apart.
I don't believe so. Adjusting the time twice a year is not a big deal. The time adjustment is accessed from the main screen. Sent from my iPad
No. Even the more expensive product (wireless FocusPro which also I use) don’t have automatic day light adjustments. We have to manually set the time back or forth. Sent from Windows Mail
I had a professional install after my dad failed to figure it out, so I don't think so. Sent from my iPhone
Unfortunately, there is no way to answer without knowing what kind of HVAC system you have and what your current wiring is. You can look at some of the wiring diagrams and see if you can match the wires to the polls. I attached the installation guide. But if you are at all unsure about what you are doing, it would be best to leave it to an experienced HVAC technician. You can easily cause damage to the system if you get the wiring incorrect. BTW, before you even think of installing it yourself, make sure that you kill the power to the unit completely. There is a control board which hopefully has a fuse on it for protection, but it can be a real pain to change that fuse if you short something out. Rick Cohan
I didn't replace a PC8900 with this, so I can't say. But what I can say is that I had a little difficulty figuring out the new wiring, and I called Honeywell up and they walked me through it on the phone. Worked like a dream within 5 minutes of calling them!
Marge, both the PC8900 and the FocusPro are thermostats that are designed to control the comfort system directly (i.e. air conditioner, heat pump, etc.). They don't work together unless you have a zoned system (multiple thermostat-controlled). In that case, the zone controller will use the signals from the thermostats to control their respective location's comfort.
TH5220D1029 is the recommended functional replacement for T874F1122. You can use TH6220D1028, but it is a programmable thermostat.
Please refer to pages 10 and 15 in the manual below. If you are only using the batteries for backup power, the thermostat will not stop working. http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/1277918330238/33872_PROD_FILE.pdf
Yes, you can use this thermostat to replace the TH5220D1029 model.
