Good T-Stats, but???
Good thermostat. Has many features and is touchscreen ready. However, as I have experienced with other Honeywell products, the T-Stats reads a little high and seems to run on the cool suge of things. Example, have set at 72 for cooling. During hottest part of the day keeps it ok. But in the evening even though the stat still says 72, a thermometer I have next to it reads 69-70. It seem to run even when it is not necessary. The stat is stuck on cycling a certain amount of times per hour, rather than just the swing setting. That is the only problem with most Honeywell thermostats. The CPH!!! Honeywell really needs to drop this and go to an adjustable swing setting.

Software lacking
I decided to set up the schedules and password before installing. Almost everything we do today is governed by some programmer sitting in a cubicle without a clue as to the end user's needs. What I wanted was a thermostat that was password protected, but you could change any setting if you enter the password. Well, not so here! If you set partial you can change the current setting without a password and override the schedule. If you set full then nothing can be changed unless you go to settings and unlock the entire system.
You know, sometimes I want to change the temperature temporarily, but not have to go through a dozen screens to do it. How about change the current setting and THEN ask for the password to allow the change.
Typical of software "engineers" today, Clueless!
PS. I spent 30 years in software development and it was all about what the customer needed!

Honeywelll visionpro wifi thermostats are the best at creating heating & cooling controls; with sensors and gateway you can get amazing temperature control. I've installed numerous systems in old houses that have steam, hydronic or radiant heat and Honeywell's options made each customized set up work brilliantly!

Minimal Functionality via App
I installed TrueZONE in my home and needed to use this thermostat for one zone because using a wired thermostat was not possible. The thermostat itself, connected via RedLINK to the zone control panel, is great. However, control via the Total Connect Comfort website and app is APPALLING. Only the Mode (Heat, A/C, Off,) temperature and alert notifications can be controlled remotely. No control for Fan or Schedule, or view of energy usage. Whereas, my wired Honeywell T6Pro thermostat, which connects to the Resideo app, has full control available via the app. I do not understand why this thermostat, at nearly $200, is so limited.

Q: I have a large house that is runs on one unit and uses 4 zones. Each zone has its own thermostat. All the zones use the TH8110R1008 units. I have one unit that I want to add a remote to, but running wires from it is not possible. Could I replace the one thermostat and replace it with a TH8110R1008 so I can use a wireless sensor? Does the wireless senor use 2.5, 5mhz or something else. Can it interfere with home wireless networks? Thanks

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffYou can use the wireless sensors with TH8110R1008 so long as you have a C wire run to the thermostat or it is paired to an equipment interface module. Redlink will not interfere with home wifi networks.

Q: Will this thermostat control humidity if used with the EIM, the indoor and outdoor sensors, and obviously a humidifier? The Honeywell docs seem to indicate it will. Trying to avoid upgrading to the th8321.
