Small Footprint; Easy To Use/Install
Wish they named it something other than 8000....confuses it with the old version. THIS one has a smaller footprint on the wall; is easy to use, and programmable by anyone savvy enough with electronics. The unit, while PRO install, can indeed be done by a skilled DIY-er, as long as you have the wires you need already on your old t'stat, or have an 'extra' wire that's unused in your wire bundle at the t'stat and furnace block for the required C wire...Honeywell has a how-to video on this btw. We have a forced-air furnace, and outdoor a/c (central air) unit, with the one transformer (a std hookup), and it's an easy program even though it does have a complex menu. We also purchased the RedLink gateway and outdoor sensor (MUSTs) in my opinion if you like 'toys' and want to utilize some of this t'stats features. One complaint so far (only after 2 days of course, being Honeywell JUST released this version....) is that the wiring into the t'stat is terribly small. It's doable, and I understand they had to save on space, but was sized to a fit a 9-year-old's fingers. Great unit so far.

Don't forget the gateway!!
The thermostat works perfect, but was given little information on the front end that an extra 100 dollar gateway is needed in order to control the thermostat wireless. Why is that technology not included with the thermostat it self. So once I got the gateway everything has worked just as expected, with very easy set up and friendly controls.
Pretty good so far, just wish it was more self contained!

Remove the AA batteries
I installed per the instructions and the heat would not come on. My HVAC guy told me to remove the batteries and the thermostat has worked perfectly controlling temperature and humidity since.

Last experience was so good, I bought the same product again
I had a second one of these items in the house fail, a unit that was close to 10+ years older and the Temp Sensor locked up on it. So, given that my first experience with SupplyHouse was so good when I decided to upgrade 20 year old unit in the house, I came to them again this time.

Easy to install and program if you read and follow Instructi
Great replacement for discontinued model. Need to replace the EIM at same time. I called Honeywell and they said not a home owner replaceable part. It took me 1.5 hours on high side mostly because I went very slow and steady. Only needed small screwdriver and manual from Thermostat and EIM. New thermostat only needed 2 wires (not 3 in old application) power and common. No need for data wire since the Stat talks to EIM via Redlink wireless. Very pleased; controlling multi stage heat pump, AC with gas Aux furnace. Supply house staff excellent friendly and helpful. My estimated savings based on a quote from a service company $350

After a lot of problems your thermostat works fine.
I have tried another Honeywell thermostat and it doesn't work. The one you sent me works very well. The only small thing is that it will not come off of daylight savings time. Not a big problem.
