The Lambro 8-inch white plastic fresh air intake vent (rain guard) is a low-profile design that blends well in soffit installations.
You can use the fresh air intake vent for new and replacement installations. The vent frame comes with four screw holes to secure the vent and a caulk-friendly frame for completing the installation. The vent features a removable screen, which enables easy inspection and cleaning. Please check the inside of the vent regularly to prevent the build-up of outside elements, such as leaves and debris.
The vent's manufacturing material is polymer resin with a UV additive to prevent premature fading caused by sunlight. It would be best to prep the vent before painting it; use plastic paint to paint the plastic vent effectively.
Please be sure to check local building codes before installation.

Do not buy
Soon as it arrived it was falling apart in two pieces. We tried to get it back together and because we promised to be done we installed it on a house.It had to be rigged to stay together. Next day the builder called and said the vent cover fell off again. It is still sitting in our shop can not use

Improved product over the last design with the same product number. The screw holes are not in the same location, so that's requires new holes drilled in cinder block...

Will deteriorate after a few years in the sun.
It was faster and easier for me just to replace my old one with the same product. Hopefully the coat of paint I put on the new one will help with its longevity.

Q: is this for 8" ducts or 8" overall? how flimsy is the material this is made from? are there existing mounting holes? is this a gloss plastic material or a matte paintable surface?

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffThis is for an 8" duct. The plastic is fairly thin. There are mounting holes on the corners. It is more of a normal glossy plastic than a matte finish.
