Works Great

I replaced at 48" 1980's Cadet electric baseboard with this baseboard. This baseboard is much quieter and makes no noise at all compared to my old LOUD baseboards. Also I learned that it is important to follow the directions and leave the baseboard loosely attached to the wall so there is some room for expansion/contraction. If you crank the screws in really tight from the baseboard to the wall, your baseboard will pop and make noise everytime it turns on. This baseboard works good with the new digital thermostats that have gradiated heating, i.e., the baseboard can be heated none, a little, or a lot as controlled by the thermostat. My old baseboards were pretty much either off or very hot. The gradiated heat makes for a more comfortable room and is more energy efficient. This baseboard also puts out a lot more heat than my prior 48" baseboard even though they are the same output. The installation instructions were clear and installation was straight-forward.

Not great quality.

I bought five of these in various sizes. Three of them I had to repair out of the box. The boxes weren't damaged, but the flimsy sheet metal was messed up, especially where the top meets the end. I hope they work better than they looked coming out of the box. Price was good compared to big box stores.

Extremely Poor Quality

This brand is extremely poor quality. It appears to be poor manufacturing and quality control. The damage on the unit, especially the damaged internal fins, as shown in the pictures did not come from shipping. It was packaged that way. It was made that way at the factory and they did not care to ship it out that way. I have not tested this unit yet to see if it works. I am not hopeful based on the condition it arrived in.

It would be nice if I could get one that isn't damaged

This heater is to go into a bathroom (damp space). It will be visible. II have received two of these. Both have been damaged. The second was to replace the first. I s won't put a unit in that space with a damaged finish. I wait for parts now from the manufacturer.

Solid performance, dependable, straightforward install.

I'm replacing the 42 year old electric baseboards and thermostats in my house. My original baseboards were from Marley and since only one failed in all these years I am sticking with their Qmark line. Supply House is a great to deal with. Excellent prices and selection compared to my local electrical supply and the big box stores. They usually beat their prices as well. The positives. Reasonably priced and the company has a good track record. Knowledgeable, friendly support staff for your technical questions. The negatives. Grab a handful of Band-Aids because you are going to need them. Sharp edges abound and I cut my hands in four separate places while installing. The built in cable clamp could use a redesign. I struggled to get the Romex into position. A slightly longer screw would help. They do provide a few knock-outs for a cable clamp. As others opined it is harder than it should be to align the access panels.

Hardest part of installing

Like the looks, and output. Hardest part of installation was putting the wiring access covers back on.due to poor alignment of screw on cover and hole in heater and angle of surfaces made it difficult.

Yes, this unit needs to be hardwired. You will need a thermostat for this unit to run on.
