Excellent product
The water heater is very nice unit...
I ordered it at 9 pm and was on my door step the next day at 11:30 am... unbelievable!!! thank you supplyhouse.com!!!!
Easy to install, has lots of venting options...
It is also very quiet...I went from a 80 gallon power vented tank style to this and what a difference in noise....comes with the valves needed to flush the unit also...
Only downside to tankless like other reviews have said is you have to wait longer to get hot water at the tap...
I'm in a ranch House in Michigan the water gets cold coming in to the house in the winter so I got the 199,000 btu...I run the temperature at 120°
I turned on 2 showers and 4 sinks and all had hot water and after about 3 to 5 minutes of still running.....the vent stack (2 in PVC) was barley warm...so that tells me this thing is very efficient....
I also noticed a increase in hot water pressure...
Maybe because it's not displacing all the water in the old tank or because my old tank was full of sediment.
Very pleased with my purchase...

I have been very satisfied until I went to clean/back flush the unit. There is not enough room between the pressure relief valve and the cold water service connection to attach the flush kit hose. Of course the only plastic part (male 1/2 to male 3/4 reducer) for the cold water service connection got broken. There is no replacement part. You have to replace the whole 850 part, or buy the complete 850 part and cannibalize that one part!!!

I have bought this product again and again.
Easy to install to replace most power vent water heaters. Rinnai customer service has been very good with myself and customers.

I have been very satisfied until I went to clean/back flush the unit. There is not enough room between the pressure relief valve and the cold water service connection to attach the flush kit hose. Of course the only plastic part (male 1/2 to male 3/4 reducer) for the cold water service connection got broken. There is no replacement part. You have to replace the whole 850 part, or buy the complete 850 part and cannibalize that one part!!!

If you are looking for the best tankless water heater, this is the one. Easy to install, keeps us in hot water and is super quiet compared to our old rusted out AO Smith GDHE 50.

Straight-forward installation and setup.
I purchased two of these to replace two 80 gallon tank style low efficiency water heaters. Routing and installing the 3" pvc vent requires good planning and patience, but the effort is worth it. I also installed the multi-unit controller. Without it there were occasions where the water temperature would drop off a bit. Once I installed that, these things will allow every hot water faucet in the house to be turned on 100% and never stop producing 130 degree F. water. We now refill our 600 gallon spa with 100 degree water and save the electricity that the spa used previously to bring the 50 degree water up to 101 degrees. If they last, I will be a firm believer.

Q: What is the maximum vent length if using the concentric pipe for the Rinnai RU199iN. Need to go about 20 feet with one 90 degree elbow to exterior wall.

Verified Reply- Supplyhouse StaffLooks to be 65 ft according to Rinnai, however this should all be checked with local code as your local code takes precedence over the install manual. An elbow is the equivalent of 6 ft as well
