  • Please consult the MANABLOC install instructions for a more comprehensive list of chemical materials that will cause harm to the MANABLOC plumbing system.

PollyAlloy PEX Crimp MANABLOCs provide a home-run distribution manifold for the plumbing system. These MANABLOCs utilize either 3/8" or 1/2" distribution lines. Once a geek always a geek

The connections work flawlessly with only a hand tight connection. I used the Shark bite stainless clamping system. While it doesn't allow the nut to slide over the clamp, there is enough room to unscrew the nut for removal of the fitting from the manifold. I prefer these over the copper crimp, as they seem more idiot proof. They are also easier to remove if that situation should arise (and it does). I noticed no pressure drop in my system over the previous branch system. One significant difference is hot water availability in some cases it seems almost instant (faucet closer to manifold). All of my workers/contractors and friends are very impressed. Some of them have never seen this system before and agree that it's the way to go. I'm a Mechanical engineer and I honestly saw nothing I would change. The nuts are a little close quartered, but increasing this area would make the manifold larger/longer, which I thought would be impractical. Someone with fat fingers could experience some difficulty there. I surface mounted my manifold on a 3/4 pc of plywood backed by 1/2 foam board, which was then attached to an exterior block wall. For my outgoing tubing support I attached 2x4's (parallel to the 4 in plane) to the plywood surface and then used 1/2" clamps position around 3" out from the manifold connectors.

Not rebuildable if broken

The main inlet cracked at the threads and from what I read is not a piece sold individually. I ended up buying a whole replacement for a piece that is assembled and I'm sure there is a big box of end caps laying on a shelf that could be available so these things could be rebuilt as needed but that is not the case. The unit works great when working but if something more than a simple o-ring goes wrong and you have to throw the whole thing away. If I wasn't already set up for it I may not have bought another one. The water flow and pressure are balanced perfectly across the unit no matter how short/long the run is. If you have to take it out of service you will have a birds nest of fittings to bypass this while your new is being shipped.

Manabloc with PEX x Threaded ends

Works as described. The kit was missing the 3/4" supply nuts but I called customer service and they found the missing parts and sent them to me.

Works great so far

The Instructions were fine. However, I didn't really have enough space to install it as instructed because I was replacing a 15-year-old system from an unknown manufacturer that didn't allow for the proper spacing of the PEX tubing (as you can see.) However, all's well that ends well. It took about a day because I had never done one before, AND I used manual crimpers - do yourself a favor and get an auto-crimper! Spend the money! My hands were cramped for days afterwards. Arrgg! Still, easy job it you take your time and double check everything. Test each line as you go. I made some mistakes by NOT actually crimping some rings a few times or actually NOT adding the crimp ring to each section of PEX tubing to begin with. I also added a plastic barrier to the back and a bag/basin/outlet for any water that may eventually leak (and it WILL leak, eventually...) to catch and drain into the garage, not the wall space. Do NOT let it leak into the wall space. EVER. I did test the line pressure and temp before I ordered, so within stated tolerance. I have a 1-inch PEX line coming into the house, 3/4-inch PEX going to the hot water heater and back from it, and 1/2-inch PEX to all the plumbing fixtures, so I ordered the appropriate connections and spare caps for the unused ports. Order extra in case you need them! Watch the installation videos, and DO NOT force the caps or connections - everything is HAND tightened! It should all connect smoothly - do NOT force - and DO NOT touch anything with a wrench. NO wrench! Wrench = BAD! NO WRENCH! Got that? Otherwise, you'll need more than a few spare parts - you'll need a new manifold again.

Works Great

Replaced our old leaking manifold. Make sure you have a pex tool to clamp on new ends. Or have an HVAC technician replace it.

Not sure.

The ordering process and your product selection were ideal, the delivery time frame also reasonable and ontime. The only issue I had or have, is the Manifold box it came in not the delivery box, looked like it was a used unit and parts were tossed about via ripped packages, the orange caps to keep dust and debris out of the manifold were all off and split on the sides. The manifold itself look almost used, scuffed up and dirty, the labels were torn and falling off of the sheet. The reason I put not sure for a heading, is I have not installed it yet and used it in real time to confirm if it works well and consistently. I will take a few years on that review.

Beats a branched line install

Used this to replace the old KITEC branched plumbing throughout the house. Pros: - Eliminates need for any fittings other than at the manifold and the fixture - no worries about leaks in walls or ceilings - Very easy to attach each branch line with the supplied compression/crimp fittings - hand tightening the compression fitting appears to be sufficient as stated in the instructions. - Can be surface mounted for retrofit installations like mine - Comes with labels for each branch - Can be installed by one person - Quicker than expected delivery, item was on backorder when I ordered but it still showed up a few days earlier than the earliest expected date. Cons: - Blank/unused cold ports all have very, very slow leaks even when valves are fully closed. Minor tweaks to loosen/tighten the valves and try and find the "right" spot for fully closed didn't stop the slow drips. Will need to put on all of the compression fittings and add short stubs of PEX with plugs crimped on to keep from leaking long term. Not a big deal, but means to use any of those spare ports in the future will require cutting off the crimped PEX to free up the valve, a minor annoyance.

Makes a clean look

If you're looking for a great home run option, this is it. Quick connections work great, only thing I wish an option was to extend both hot and cold. There might be but I didn't see it when I was looking. Don't forget to add another bag of fittings, if you want it to look nice...

Yes, you can use a PEX clamp tool and stainless steel PEX clamp rings with the crimp MANABLOC. Copper fittings do not work with the MANABLOC.

Q: I need to replace a 26 port PB(Quest) manifold that is leaking. Do they make a specific manifold with fittings for the PB or do I have to put in a pex manifold and adapt each of the lines with a pex to PB fitting?

We do not carry any PB manifolds. You would have to transition from PB to PEX.

Supply inlets measure approximately 1". They use a unique MANABLOC thread that is only compatible with MANABLOC supply adapters. The adapters are available at the link below in 3/4" and 1" sizes. http://www.pexsupply.com/MANABLOC-Supply-Adapters-764000

Q: What fitting do you use to attach uponor tubing to the manifold? Is it more comaptible with the pexpress manifold or the crimp? I'm doing 9 hot and 16 cold 3/4 inch in and 1/2 inch out.

Uponor's AquaPEX tubing is compatible with all MANABLOC styles. The crimp-style MANABLOC may be a better option if you do not have a tool yet simply because the press tool is more expensive.

Crimp MANABLOCs include crimp fittings that should be used with standard crimp rings and crimping tools.

rings. If it says crimp then the fittings will require rings. The website uses the same picture for several variations of a product but the description should be accurate.

You should run 3/4" or 1" PEX from a well to the inlet of the MANABLOC. This unit comes with port adapters, but supply adapters must be purchased separately.

One inch should be big enough from well, 1/2 inch will give you about 5 gals./min. flow at 50-60 lbs. pressure. Yes.

You can mount the MANABLOC horizontally, but you cannot run 1/2" to the tankless heater. Piping from the well as you explained it would be fine.
