We have not heard of the issue before. We would recommend checking your wiring to make sure there is not a short in the line.
Unfortunately the intermittent chirp is a known fault with this model of thermostat. The only real fix is to replace the thermostat.
could be a low battery indicator sound, try changing battery.
Pressing the "Run" button will allow the thermostat to return to its normal programmed schedule.
1F80-51 is an obsolete model. 1F80-0471 is listed as the replacement by the manufacturer.

It would seem a lot of HVAC tecnicians know something we don't; because I'm having the same issue. After installation, only the current temp was displayed in that field. after changing the time and settings, it now alternately displays time and temp. There *must* be a way to change this.
