Work great!

White Roger recommends this unit to replace it's older 50A50 line of controller board and it works as advertised. You may have to jumper the OD1 and OD2 pins on the 12-pin connector if your furnace don't support this feature. Look to see if there are wires on the OD1 and OD2 pin of your existing 12-pin connector. The pin layout is on the controller board. Use the black jumper wire that come with the replacement unit to jumper these two pins on your existing 12-pin connector if your furnace doesn't support this safety feature. What I really like about this replacement unit is the on-board diagnostic function indicated by the flashing LED and the product manual that came with the package. After I installed the unit and power on, the diagnostic LED flashes 5 times so I looked up in the manual to find the OD1 & OD2 issue. Since my old furnace doesn't have this feature, I jumper the two pins and power the unit on again. This time the diagnostic LED flashes 4 time indicating the (temperature) limit switch is open. I look up on the internet to find out what the limit switch looks like, locate the switch and ohm it out (with the power OFF). Apparently my limit switch is stuck open and need to be replaced. A temporary fix is to unstick the switch by flicking my finger against it several times. This will work until it stuck open again so REPLACE this part. When I put everything back together, the furnace came on and the family have heat once again. Apparently my old controller board still work b'cuz my problem was the limit switch stuck open. However, the diagnostic function on the old controller board did not help me to figure out the problem so I opted to leave the new one in my furnace. This newer unit will help me to diagnostic any problems that may occurred in the future.

Not a replacement for 50A50-405

I purchased the 50A55-843 as a replacement for the 50A50-405 on a Cumberland Model FCAC100A50A1 that was used for the second stage heat in a dual-fuel heat pump system. When installed in furnace the blower would run all the time and the burners would not come on when the system was calling for emergancy heat. This was the case regardless of where the thermostat was set. Found a new 50A50-405 locally, installed it and everything went back to working.

Perfect replacement

My outdated control board failed on the fan control relay due to burned out relay switch. This was the listed replacement option. I was a little concerned because the board was not an exact match but all indications showed that this was the upgraded replacement so I took a chance. All the connections were the same but some were in different locations on the board. Very easy upgrade and swap.

Perfect replacement for 50A50-288 (10207710)

The rats nests left behind over the years by those rushed Houston HVAC contractors finally has taken its toll.... Somehow, the R wire of the 24V control got contact with 110V, and fried the old control board.... and the Nest thermostat too. So I decided to rewire both the furnace (an old Amana 80SSE) and the condenser from scratch, getting rid of "put the cable back were I found it" and instead followed the wiring diagrams (found a lot of mistakes, missing connections etc) and replacing all consumable parts while at it. The wiring diagram included with this new universal control board was very useful. I added a few connections that were not there, double checked everything, and it all again started up beautifully. These older units are very simple, at the end.... Even checked the furnace operation spending extra time in that 140deg++ attic.... So AC is back on, and missus is happy. Conclusion is that I am convinced that this is indeed a universal control, those complaining "it does not work" likely "just put the connections back where they were" instead of tracing the wires and making sure the right component is connected to the right terminal.... I also found the "2 wire to 4 wire" MOLEX adapter included needs that you also connect the 2 neutrals.... So you don't have to cut off the old plug, but still run 2 new wires in addition.

Q: Does this replace the 50A55-120 in my Lennox-Aire Flo? I have read both yes and no in different places! My existing board looks nothing like this but that doesn't mean it won't function the same way. Mine has WR printed on it, presumably White Rodgers. On the label it says 50A55-120 Lennox and several other numbers. Usual story...my AC contractor wants $530 but is trying to talk me in to sinking that in to a new system instead.

Q: I just installed the 50a55-843 as a replacement for a 50a55-110. Problem was the circulator blower would not run and believed it to be the relay on the control board. Replacement fixed the circulator blower but now the outside unit will not run although was previously running fine..Instructions say there is a second wire from the Y terminal to be connected to the 24 VAC hot side of the compressor contactor. I don't know how to make this connection as isn't the contactor on the outside unit? I assume this second connection isn't to a terminal on the control board. There is a dual fuel circuit board on the outside of the unit with colored wires from thermostat and to furnance and a set to the outside unit. If I connect the yellow wire to one of the outside unit terminals which one...yellow , white, red, start, etc...nothing here is labeled to the hot side of the compressor contactor. I would appreciate any help
