Everything went well
We had an AO Smith GDHE 50 that gave up after 14 years. I wanted the same model in 75 gallon capacity because the 50 did a reasonably good job keeping up with 2 showers at a time. We actually had to wait and go for 9 days with no hot water, (a bit challenging but not too bad, with 5 gallon buckets of warmed water🙂)
The 75 is fantastic. Quieter and lots more water! Very high quality appliance!

Q: Can this unit be side vented? I am trying to replace a 60 gal. A.o.smith water heater that is side vented. Also, do I need to change the venting if I use this unit? I need faster recovery or larger capacity, is this unit over kill?

Verified Reply- Supplyhouse StaffThis unit can be vented vertically thru-the-roof or horizontally thru-the-wall. You would have to consult a licensed installer at your current system to see if it might require adjustments.
