Description
This Aqua-Pure sediment cartridge is made from an exclusive Progressive Porosity process that entangles and entraps larger sediment particles toward the outer diameter and progressively smaller particles toward the cartridge core. This allows even loading for maximum cartridge life. In addition, the unique square-grooved surface provides more sediment-trapping surface area than ever before. Unlike string-wound and pleated paper cartridges, the rigid, sturdy construction of the Aqua-Pure cartridges are able to withstand variations in water pressure.

2 QuestionsQ: we have a lot of rust in our water. what size filter should i purchase to take the rust out for the most part, but still have good water flow?

Most all of the filters have a GPM rating. The higher GPM one will filter larger particles of rust, the lower GPM filters, smaller particles. We always tell customers to try the filter with the highest GPM output, they are usually less expensive, if it does not do what you need the go to the next level with the next filter. I would think the AP810 an Aqua Pure general dirt/rust filter should work well for you. I typically buy that for my 2.5 bathroom house. Please check aquapure.com web site, there seem to be many other types like AP101T , AP11T things like that to check out. There was a FAQS brochure I was just reading there that was informative.
Q: How often does this cartridge need to be replaced?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThe manufacturer recommends replacing the filter every six months. You should change it more frequently if there is a reduction in flow rate.
It will depend on the sediment in your water. I go about 4 months in the winter and about 2 months in the summer when I have much higher usage. That's for a family of 4.
Hi, unfortunately there is not a specific answer for your question. We install these in many of our customer's homes, and the easiest way to tell them when to change the cartridge is when you notice a drop in your water pressure, just going by sight can cost you extra money because it will look dirty long before it is full enough to change. So we just tell our customers that when the pressure drops, or you start getting sediment at the faucets, then the cartridge needs to be changed. How long it will last depends on how much sediment/iron you are filtering out, some of our customers only make it about a month, ours at our home will last about 6 months. Hope this helps
