Description
Use this Retrofitting Guide to verify that your existing baseboard heaters will fit the one-size-fits-most baseboard heater cover replacements.
Note: Intended for Hydronic (hot water type) baseboard heaters. Use caution when using with electric baseboard heaters as they operate at higher surface temperatures.
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to persons.
The Panel Height of this baseboard is 6-3/4" and the Endcap Height is 7-1/2". For more info. please check out the Scale Template PDF in the Resources section.

- Made of 22 gauge perforate steel.
- Features TWO separate layers of protection against rust: an electroplated galvanized coating over the carbon steel and an epoxy-based powder coat in semi-gloss white.
- Designed to retrofit on to most existing baseboard heater covers.
- Superior Airflow... Airflow is the critical factor in proper baseboard heating. We use a perforated steel screen that visually hides the originally installed heater cover while ensuring that the heating element receives proper airflow.
- Safer around children than traditional baseboard covers... The dangers associated with hot finned tube heating elements are well known. Our one-piece design doesn't allow for little fingers or small flammable toys to be placed inside the heater via the top gap where the heat comes out.
- Simple to Install... It just doesn't get any easier. Only the non-permanent components of the existing heater cover are discarded. The back cover that is mechanically fastened to the wall stays in place.
- Baseboarders are made of steel and will get just as hot as the original covers.

Verified Reply- Baseboard Heater Covers - ManufacturerCarpeted floors are fine. We have to ensure nothing obstructs the air flow in and under the finned tube element. Tall pile carpet can sometimes cause issues, but this is beyond the scope of our product. We have a built in 3/4" gap between the bottom of the endcaps and bottom of the perforated panel to help ensure there is always a sufficient gap.
SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM. MINE ARE ON LINOLEUM IN THE BATHROOM, AND THERE'S OVER 2" OF CLEARANCE FROM THE FLOOR.
THE COVERS WILL WORK ON CARPETED FLOORS. IF THE BASEBOARD HEATERS ARE TOO LOW, RAISE THE BACKING PLATES A LITTLE HIGHER ON THE WALL.
i personally dont have carpet in my house but i cant imagine why it wouldnt. it fits straight over your baseboard.

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThe moisture in the bathroom is causing the rust, and can not be prevented. However, you can try to paint the covers with a rust resistant paint, and this should help.
The galvanized steel baseboard heater covers sold here at PexSupply.com will not rust.
Q: Hello, I need to trim the cover to fit, what do you recommend I use to cut it? I have many different types of tools and equipment available to me.

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffIn order to cut the baseboard cover, you may use tin snips or a chop saw.
We recommend you use hand shears that are capable of 22 gauge steel. Power cutting tools such as "zip cut" saws are not recommended as they are too aggressive and getting a nice clean straight cut edge would be difficult. Be sure to file off any rough edges after cutting. The exposed cut edge should be hidden away inside an endcap or other type of accessory.
Q: I have original baseboard in out house. It is about 30 yrs old and the size is no longer made. The endcap is 9" in height. Do you have a cover for this baseboard?

Check with the Pexsupply.com customer service people for the retrofitting guide. Your 9" height is probably OK, but you will need to verify your heaters comply with the two other dimension checks on the guide.
Hey Lore...this 7" will actually work...you will just have a 2" gap from the floor up...but it should cover the tubing & fins. I have about 8 and 1/4 ...and it looks great.
Q: Can it be painted? Or can it come in other colors? How much of the cover clips over the back of the installed cover. What are the cross section dimensions?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThe unit only comes in semi-gloss white, however, it can be spray painted. The cover uses a lip that is 3/4" in height that clips over the back of the existing cover. Yes all items within the baseboard heater cover product line can be painted. The exterior is an epoxy-based powder coat. Semi-gloss white is the only color available. The lip at the back of the slip-on panel is 3/4" in height. Cross sectional dimensions can be obtained by contacting Pexsupply.com customer service.
Q: If all the parts of an old cover (with its brackets) have been entirely removed, can this cover be used by just using the brackets you sell? Thanks. I need a cover 56"long, though could accommodate the length of the 5' cover (it's in a small bathroom), unless the end pieces take up a lot of room. Marian
