I would never buy this again

This was ordered and installed January 2022 on the fin tube in the bedroom, which was the highest point my my home system. In December 2025, the automatic air relief failed open and flooded my living room (below the bedroom). refer to video.

This is a good product that replaced the same

I found my original B&G model 97 leaking. Replaced with same. I used Supply House because I trust their service & prices. Hard to find qualities at the local suppliers for DIY folks.

Perfect fit and function

Needed to vent some 3rd floor radiators in a boiler system regularly. Now I just let them bleed themselves.

Please read the below text from the instruction sheet on the website: 1. To manually operate, press down on the vent stem. 2. For normal automatic venting, open cap one full turn for a slow release of air. A fast release of the air will allow dirt or scale to foul the vent mechanism. The small hole in the side of the cap allows air to escape. 3. To shutoff automatic air vent, screw cap down tight. SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS There is no service required for the automatic air vent. CAUTION: Uncontrolled venting of water can occur with the automatic air vent if dirt, scale, pipe compound or other foreign material fouls the operating mechanism. Keep vent cap closed during system filling to prevent dirt from running into vent mechanism. Failure to follow these instructions could result in property damage and/or moderate personal injury. CAUTION: Corrosion or leakage of vents can cause damage or injury. Periodically inspect the air vents for signs of leakage or corrosion. If noted, the vent must be replaced. Failure to follow these instructions could result in property damage and/or moderate personal injury.

Q: Hello Could you explain to me how a person knows the air vent is working?Jim Kaliska

The Vent should operate automatically. The indication that it is not working would be the symptoms of trapped air in a hydronic system such as noisy operation.
