Air vents have been removing air from heating and cooling systems for decades. Some were better than others. Many stopped venting after initial filling. No one has, up to now, been able to design a low cost vent that performs at both low and high pressures. It was always one or the other. Honeywell's revolutionary patented fulcrum design offers a venting rate of 3-4 times that of other products. It works when others stop venting at higher pressures. The GoldTop offers convenient, one-fits-all concept and is competitively priced.

I have relied upon this brand of air vent for years
I use these air vents on the oil-heat boiler and on a laundry room hot water heat line. I always keep these on hand, saving money from having a plumber charge high fees for their replacement when needed, as the units are easy to install.

Verified Reply- Supplyhouse StaffThe small piece on the bottom forces an internal cylinder to rise with pressure therefore allowing excess air to escape the system and bleeding off out of the top of the unit

Q: Do these need to be installed in the upright position or can they be installed horizontally? Do they need to be installed on every radiator in the system, or will just installing on upper floor radiators take care of air in the system?

Verified Reply- Supply House StaffThese float-type air vents are designed to be installed vertically to vent air that is released from the water by being heated. These are recommended to be installed at the highest points in the system to properly eliminate any air within the system. Installation on every radiator may be overkill but it depends on your system.
