Your pipe will fit inside the WP4-48 . What is your application? The above fitting is a pressure fitting for water piping and is $ 53.88 but if your application is either a plumbing drain or vent the fitting below will do the job and is a little less costly! SKU: WD84-48 is $ 36.51

Your 3" copper pipe fits inside of this fitting. Tom Miller
All plumbing is ID. A regular 3" to male adapter will slide over the pipe without the need of a coupling. Chris Paul Bayside Heating & Air, Inc. Sent from my iPhone
Any Std. copper x male adapter will fit over copper tubing....kpc
A standard plumbing 3" C x MIP Adapter will be 3.125 ID on the copper side. Standard copper pipe will be 3.125 OD and will fit inside the adapter. Based on the type of copper, K, L or M, only the ID changes. The OD does not change and all copper types will fit inside this adapter.
The WP4-12-16 copper fitting is designed to fit over nominal 3/4" copper. Since 3/4" copper has a 7/8" OD, the fitting has an ID slightly larger than 7/8". IPS thread is interchangeable with NPT.
IPS refers to iron pipe size, same as NPT. It basically translates 3/4 ID copper X 1" male pipe thread. Sent from my iPhone
IPS stands for Iron Pipe Size. All Iron is NPT or national pipe thread. Hope this helps
3/4" x 1" Copper X Male Adapter IPS means iron pipe size in your case you have 3/4 copper sweat X 1" male adaptor NTP means national pipe tappered ( the thread on the fitting is tappered
IPS (Iron Pipe Size) can be Straight or Tapered thread, but generally is considered Tapered unless otherwise stated. NPT (National Pipe Tapered) is Tapered. So, yes, in this case 1" IPS is the same as 1" NPT. FYI, NPSM is the designation for National Pipe Standard Mechanical which is a Straight (non-tapered) thread.
Plumbing sizes are in listed in “ID” and refrigeration sizes are listed in “OD”, the ¾” plumbing size will be 7/8” OD. The word street in plumbing means that the ¾” size will be the same as the pipe OD such as a street ell or street 45. The IPS means Iron Pipe Size and is the same as NPT or National Pipe Thread. Bob
Right: 3/4" copper is 3/4" on the inside, 7/8" on the outside (which means that the copper sweat end of this adapter is 1" in diameter on the outside, since it's a fitting). IPS, NPT, and MIP are all equivalent here, since all modern fittings use NPT for iron pipe size equivalents. Regards, Scott
It means INTERNAL pipe thread...the same tapered pipe thread referred to as NPT Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
The outside diameter of copper tubing is 1/8” over the “Call-out” size. International pipe standard and national pipe thread refers to the same standard pipe thread. Also, MPT refers to male pipe thread and FPT refers to female pipe thread No virus found in this message. I already replied about the thread question...but I think you may be mistaken about the copper sweat end of this fitting. In my experience if a fitting like this is intended to fit into another fitting (meaning that it measures the same diameter as the copper pipe itself...7/8") then it is referred to 3/4" male fitting x male adaptor...the "male adaptor refers to the threaded end. The one shown below would get a copper pipe soldered into it (or the street end of a street 90 for example)...does that make sense? Thanks, Harrison S. This WP4-32 fitting fits around the outside of 2" copper pipe on the sweat side.
Part WP4-04 fits over 1/4" copper pipe on the sweat side. The other end has 1/4" male threads.
The WP4-32 fitting has a 2-1/4" OD.
All manufacturing is done in a 55,000 sq. ft. building located in Cambridge, Ontario
To my understanding these are made in Canada by a union company. If they are imports you would not be able to tell by the quality.
There is no I.D. or O.D. for thread sizes. The thread size is 1" NPT and will connect to any 1" female NPT connection.
