4 QuestionsQ: I would like to verify my thinking. That this fitting would fit into tubing with an ID of 1-3/8'' and 1-1/2'' OD?

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffThe "FTG" side will be the equivalent of 1 1/4" copper pipe which is an OD of 1.375" and an ID of 1.265".

THE FTG MEANS ONE END OF THE FTG GOES INTO THE SOCKET END OF THE FITTING ..USUALLYY CALLED A STREET ELL
refers to male sweat connection. For example, a 1/2" C x 3/4" MPT (Male Threaded) fitting would have a 1/2" female sweat connection on one side and 3/4" male threads on the other. Similarly, a 3/4" C x 3/4" FTG elbow would have female sweat connection on one side and male sweat on the other.
FTG means fitting… K, L, M, is wall thickness for copper pipe/or tube and does not apply to fittings that have a standard thickness. K, L, M tubing will all have the same outside diameter and therefore is what the fitting registers off of.
K,L&M - refer to wall thickness of item FTG - fitting same size both ends but smaller end could slide into opposite end (STREET fitting) DWV - drain waste vent

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffAccording to the manufacturer, there isn’t a grade per se. Every fitting is required by size to have a minimum wall thickness. You can make it as thick as you want, but since copper costs money, most manufacturers seek to use the least amount required. ¼ inch fittings are supposed to have a minimum wall of .023”.
All copper fittings are designed to work with all 3 thickness of copper pipe ... The inside diameter of copper pipe is what changes with L , M or K copper pipe ....
Copper pipes are rated for different pressure therefore the pipe wall thickness varies (K,L,M or DWV). On all pipes outside diameter stays the same and inside diameter varies therefore a fitting will fit any pipe of a particular diameter.

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffOn the street side of the fitting, the inside diameter is 3/4" and the outside diameter is 7/8". The inside diameter on the other side is 7/8".
