I bought this to replace an 10 year old larger unit in a extremely tight new house built to Passive Haus standards. The controls I got were 3 temp timers for the baths and kitchen areas, and a master control for the mechanical room. The unit is a quiet ERV which does a good job of preserving cool or heat in the house depending on your season, and the temp timers allow for max ventilation for 20-40 or 60 minutes with a single button in the baths and kitchen areas. The cleaning of the filters is easy and so is the core for the major cleaning times. I did get the MERV 8 filters with the unit since we do use this continually and we wanted the cleanest inside air possible. It works great, keeps the house fresh, even during cooking. The only complaint I might have is that during install there was no definitive diagram or explanation of which side was the intake/outside air side, and which was the home side. I say this because there supposedly is a temperature sensor which takes care of deicing during the winter months, so I wanted it on the correct side. But I had to use my best judgement. Not a mention in the install instructions either. I still love the unit, and do recommend it for those wanting an ERV.

I swapped out my 75 CFM unit for this 150 CFM model. The little guy just wasn't keeping up with the basement radon anymore. The SER150 has a better configuration: with both fans downstream of the air filters. That's an important change that keeps the moth guts from sticking to the intake fan blades and burning up the motor. I added a simple smart plug for on/off programming and it's doing a better job running 12 hours a day versus 24 hours a day with the smaller unit. That lets me run it during the warmer daylight hours in winter and I'll reverse the cycle in summer. The spring isolators are helpful, but there is still some transmitted sound and vibration through the floor joists with the bigger unit.

I bought this as a direct solution for my flat roof cabin. The air really needs daily refreshes of outside air. This unit has completely improved air quality. Before buying, however, really try and understand how dampening works. The unit does an amazing job.
