Evergreen VS User Interface for Use with Evergreen VS Motors

I used this to convert ECM 2.3 model to Evergreen EM module. Actual it was complicate, but I used AI to help me get the correct wire in the correct terminal. The end results everything works good.

Had an older system that is 20+ years old, air handler fan motor had a date of 1995, this motor quit 2 years ago, I ordered the Evergreen VS Motor and User Interface. Other than having to cut a hole in the air handler panel to mount this user interface externally to the air handler it was a straightforward installation. When energized it operated with the new Evergreen VS Motor just fine, was able to connect to the UI via WiFi and tweak the system. However, when I put it on a 90 second delay, the heat pump would shut off the air handler fan immediately w/out the delay, so lived with it. During a recent heat wave the air handler fan quit, no warning, had to get a new motor and UI as I didn't have time to do a proper diagnosis since it was 88 degrees in the house (a couple of nights spent in local hotels). When new motor & UI were installed the air handler fan started right up. And now I have the 90 second delay when the heat pump turns off. It works fine but not thrilled that the motor and/or UI quit after 2 years. Forced to replace in-kind since I didn't have time to look into replacing the entire system which will probably happen come fall or winter. I only recommend as it helped to replace components of the HVAC system instead of the entire HVAC system.

I bought the 5k010v with the 6510V DC motor, because my 24-year-old old OEM potted ECM controller bit the dust. Does it work? Absolutely. Is is equivalent to the OEM? Not by a longshot. Let me say that, my old Trane furnace was top of the line, and I knew I paid a premium at the time for the DC motor. What I loved about that motor controller was the way it ramped the blower speed up and down. Smooth as silk. The 5K010V and the Genteq ECM are basically on and off at the preset speeds. Virtually no ramping, so it's much more like the belt drive behemoth from the 1960s that we replaced in 2000. You know when this thing is turning on and off. Not subtle. But why would it be? If they made it too good, we'd be less likely to buy a whole new furnace. The 5k010v does have a feature to read PCM, but, that does not seem to work with my furnace board. My documentation gripe is that they don't explain that the initial setting of W1/W2 staging makes certain options disappear. They also don't explain how the dehumidification profile works. Just, "Add dehumidification profiles." The iOS "Dealer ToolBelt" app works OK - but they stopped short of making it good. Every time it starts it says it's upgrading firmware to 1.2.4, but then after that the initial screen shows firmware version 1.2.1. They don't offer a low enough setting for continuous circulation (G closed). The minimum is 20%. With the 1 HP motor, this seemed like a lot more CFM than OEM. So I used the app to set the motor at 3/4 HP, and with that, 20% seemed much closer to the OEM circulate setting. When I had questions, I sent them via email to SupplyHouse, and they referred me to the manufacturer. Fair enough, but is that really support? Telling me to call the manufacturer and having to get a real time verbal explanation? Can I get that in writing? No.

This item allowed me to adjust the blower motor to the optimal operational speed for my system. House cools faster & cycles much less than before.
