Works As Advertised

I had a GE 2.0 version from 1995, the new motor was a direct replacement. In addition to plugging in the harness provided I had to wire several color-coded wires to the air handler circuit board. Once I finally turned on the correct breaker the motor determined it is a CCW rotation and started blowing air. Used the VS User Interface, had to cut a small hole in the side air handler panel for wire & plug access to the UI mounted on the outside of the air handler. I knew if I hired someone they would say my whole air handler would need to be replaced so I chose to DIY. Also used the UI phone app to check parameters using my cell phone. Only downside was that SupplyHouse couldn't verify which motor I needed, I found this on the motor manufacturer's website.

Had To Replace After 2 Years

We have an older heat pump system, the previous motor date said 1995. Of course any system that old they say to replace the entire system, wasn't prepared to do that at that time. It was a challenge getting the squirrel cage fan assembly out of the air handler (due to somebody's poor installation years ago), bought a puller to separate the fan from the motor shaft (worked great). Ran great for 2 years then just stopped. Could have been lightning related but the heat pump compressor and fan are much older and have not had issues. Not happy w/ longevity of motor, forced to replace with another since this happened during a heat wave. Planning on replacing the HVAC in fall or winter but had to get it going immediately as it was 88 degrees inside the house. Now operating fine.

Problem solved.

Furnace quit three months out of warranty. Used the system's status codes and troubleshooting feature to zero in on a blower motor failure. Got a quote of $3k from service person to replace motor and board (board was fine, they just were jacking me up). Service person really wanted me to buy a whole new furnace. I ordered and installed this motor, problem solved. My original motor had welded brackets so it was not a direct replacement. I disassembled the old motor and tested the coils - good. So I swapped the new motor's rotor, bearings, and controller onto the old casing which all fit and worked fine. The problem was most likely just the controller but the bearings did show some wear and it was good to replace them.

Got less than 2 years of light use

Not very reliable given bearing failure after 24 months of light use. I expect better from genteq.

Exactly what I wanted

I was trying to find a motor for my AC handler that's about 12 years old. It's a variable speed motor with a specific plug on it. I could not find it in any of the shops locally, then I looked online I found it with supply house. When I ordered it, I called to confirm it was the exact motor so I could plug and play. I did not want to have to rewire, it was shipped in a timely manner. I received it in a timely manner and it was exactly what I ordered for a decent price. I had a good experience with this company. I will order from them again if need be.

I have a great price on this motor

I believe this motor has troubles with the variable speed drive. This is the third one I've had in my furnace 10 years.
