Pleasantly surprised with purchase
The original four-speed furnace motor finally gave out after 29 years of service. I replaced it with this Packard 43587 three-speed motor. (In my furnace, only two speeds are used, the high speed for air conditioner and the medium low speed for heat.) The motor is quite, and has been working just great. This motor does not have the oil ports, but if one is in the mood of oiling the motor, the motor can be taken out and the two sleeve bearings can be oiled by taking out the four bolts and directly oiling the oil-holding sponges every year or two years with five or six drops of non-detergent electric motor with viscosity of 20. (The Zoom Spout has a viscosity of 10; the 3-in-1 has a viscosity of 20.)

the two motors work great. thanks!
the two motors (48 frame direct drive, 1/2 hp, 115v, 1075 rpm; 48 frame, 1/3 hp, 115v, 1075rpm) so far work great. the UPS shipping is fast. i don't know how long it can last though. no way to know it. the electric connection is so easy and the diagram on the motor is very clear.
