4" Test Titan Pipe & Cleanout Test Plug w/ DWV Pipe

This plug fits inside s40 pvc pipe or inside s40 dwv fitting. It only slides inside the pipe partially and you might be skeptical that it is not enough grip to test a 2 story plumbing job, But it will stay in place and perform as expected. Has the relief cap also that makes it simple to release the test pressure.

the first ones I did not like. the expansion was only at the hub end and the fit was poor. nothing like a 4" test plug blowing out with water in the line. The new one must have softer rubber, as the expansion is at the pipe side. holds much better and the garden hose connection is a real plus to drain before removing. 4 stars as the first one was not working too well until someone told me to put oil on the rubber and then it would slide and expand properly. manufacturer should advise what type of lubricant is safe with this product.

This product cannot be found in the big box or mom and pop shops. It is a quality product that will not rust causing for a very difficult removal.

the unit has a hard time sealing and it came out on the first attempt. the plastic threads and the plastic shoulder have too much resistance to allow it to be tightened without tools. The concept is great, with the center connection, but the red plastic nut is leaving red on the thread. it is not for multiple uses. it is a shame they did not figure out how to make the device easier to screw. I also found that the sealing part does not slide up the angles very well. only the part closes to the nut moves and the far part does not expand. again, maybe some grease that would not destroy the plastic ?
