Minimizes insulation compression on Flex Duct
If you want to be sure to minimize insulation compression on flex duct, use these saddles or go with a 3" wide duct strap. The saddles are only about $1 each. If you are hanging a large, heavy duct (like a 20 inch return), I would use two saddles per strap, and use a 3" strap to support the heavier load.

I replaced a few sections of ductwork with flexible duct and use the nylon strap but I could tell the air flow was less than before did some research and these came up. I put the nylon strap in the duct saddle and it made a huge difference something so simple but easily overlooked.

Me new Go To duct support saddle
First time I utilized these cardboard flex duct saddles-been using the metal type 35+ years.
Pros: light weight, no nicks/cuts, slotted for fiberglass duct strap, much less expensive -vs- metal
Cons: may need to use multiple on larger ducts
Overall this will be what I use going forward.

Duct saddle
