solid, well build 24v transformer

I have a central vacuum cleaner. it's main connection panel includes a small PC board with a directly soldered 24v transformer. the leads on this component eventually break internal winding contacts due to the suction motor vibration- and the unit quits working. I purchased this frame mount 24v transformer with easily interpreted wire colors in long wire pigtails. the transformer 110v lines got a conventional wall power plug and connect to a power strip. then I soldered the low volt extension leads to the vacuum unit's circuit board . The transformer frame mount design allowed me to easily mount it to the inner surface of my sound reduction enclosure where it is immune to motor vibrations. the mount points are not the electrical connections- solving a design weakness of the central vac. head unit. nice.

Transformer Replacement

I bought this transformer as a replacement for one that failed on an a 10-year old Modine greenhouse propane heater. It works as it should and hopefully it will continue to do so as long as the heater remains in service

Faulty Transformer

I purchase 4 of your 90-T40M1 transformers (xfrm) to provide 24V for my heaters in a very large greenhouse. The ordinals have been running for 25 years and starting to fail. When I hock-up the first one the heater came on and ran for about 5 min, so I thought all was Ok and put it on auto. When checking it later I could smell something burning and turn everything off. I first thought the controller had gone but after checking I noted a burn spot on the new xfrm so I thought I'd check it out. There was no continuity on the primary. I open it up and found that an unused tap (I think it was used for the 208/240V xfrm) had shorted to the casing when it was assemble the installation paper got bent over and allow the tap to touch the case. I have the xfrm if you want it back. I since installed another xfrm and it has been running for two days.

Works

Transformer works like it should. Only real issue is mounting it on the included 4x 4 plate. The hole is just a flat round hole, and the screw will just flex pass the edge and won't tighten down. To fix this, just use needle nose pliers and bend a small lip up for the screw to push against and it will tighten in place. There are others that work well right out of the box.for a few more dollars.
