Water Saver Humidifier w/ Digital Automatic Humidistat

This is my second 400a Humidifier. This humidifier has many new features compared to my 2001. Very happy.

Installation was smooth, the provided template was easy to use. I recommend installing with the automatic digital control if your HVAC unit is in the attic. Once calibrated, it becomes set and forget. The float mechanism is able to conserve water by keeping the solenoid closed when water is already present on the pad. I haven't seen my unit drain any water yet.

I prefer the 700 model with the fan. also this unit was much harder to set up than the 700 model. It costs us more in labor and was harder to install with little profit because its a smaller unit but costs more to install than the bigger 700 size unit. So we can charge less but pay more in labor. Not good for business. But the unit worked fine and did what it says it will. Make sure to mount the humistat far enough from the air handler return plenum, it in the return side, or the system reads too high humidity in the duct and won't turn on.

This is my second Aprilaire humidifier. The first on lasted over 20 years before the plastic parts got too brittle. Since the sizes and placement of holes did not change, the replacement process was a breeze. Removed the old one, install the new one, connect the wires and water and back in operation. Under an hour total time and I am NOT a handyman. A contractor wanted over $800 to supply and install the same item claiming that the replacement would take over eight hours.

2nd unit I've purchased over the last 15 years. Like the auto mode on this. Easy install Always a pleasure working with you guys

Mounted clean, works and looks nice and has some very nice easy to use features. Installed it myself in a couple of hours but I have done other similar projects.

Aprilair came nicely packaged and is working great. The only thing I'm disappointed in was I specifically asked customer service if it had everything in it for installation and I was told yes. Nothing extra was necessarily for purchase to install, but that wasn't true. So on day of installment, not all parts were there and it was a big mess and waste of time!

Love the product. The only Issue i see is the water has problems of wicking up the pad after the water stops run when the water is filled to the correct level. When the water was running the humidity went up 3-4% with in an hour. I ended up jumping out floats so the water now runs constantly and just drains. WORK BETTER NOW

Installation was straightforward if a little time consuming but this unit works great. So far I haven't seen any water going down the drain hose. Humidity in the house is up from about 22% before the install to about 38% after. Highly recommended.
