Work's OK
The input female thread end of the valve is not full throat. The water entrance is drilled to about 1/4 inch maybe 3/8 and is on the edge of the inside wall of the valve body. This would restrict the flow only a little because the outgoing end of the valve is 3/8 . The problem lies in the wall thickness of any threaded male adapter bottoming out on the body, when installed completely it further restricts the offset inlet hole to the stem, this restriction severely lowers the pressure, volume and makes the valve quite loud when flowing. The attached image shows a Bluefin offset flow vs a standard center flow.
