Great for any split level home without existing duct work.

Overall I'm happy with my purchase.I got this as a kit with the following skus... LMU36CHV, LSN180HSV4, LMN078HVT by two. System is very quiet indoor and out. There are some quarks I've experienced. 1st in cooling mode if you don't run the fan at full speed you can get a pocket of air that is about 64 deg yet the unit continues to cool. Next, I have yet to see the "auto changeover" mode actually work. So far my setup just gets stuck in whatever mode it was 1st turned on in. Even over 6 deg past the set point. Last the instructions are abysmal. In the install manual there is mention of a forced cooling switch on page 48. This is completely WRONG. DIP switch #1 puts the unit into pump down mode. This is useful if you need to do work on the indoor units or lines where you need to remove the refrigerant. The outdoor unit will run the pump and after a few min will close all the electronic expansion valves. Once complete you'll see the green LED blink. At this point you can close the service valves. This traps most of the refrigerant in the outdoor unit so it doesn't have to be recovered to preform work. This DOES NOT mean the unit is low on refrigerant like the manual says. Very confusing. Honestly this thing has a microprocessor, temp sensors, and a low side pressure sensor. The service tool should be able to calculate and tell you the amount of charge it needs for optimum performance. Overall I'd purchase again, very close to a prefect product just needs some tweaking and better English manuals.

Still with I had gone Mitsubishi

So ignore any of my other reviews. I'm quite positive that unfortunately my install may have been a bad install. The LG units are a good bang for your buck as far as power and features go. Unfortunately I still gotta drop 2 stars because support is utter GARBAGE. Not only does it lack things like isolation valves, but actual support when things go wrong is pure non-existent. LG certified techs say the machines supposed to drool worse then an English bulldog onto your carpets and walls when it gets warm, and warranty support won't talk to the non-certified tech that actually fixed the issue or even myself. (I'm sorry, I lived next to the ocean with mini splits and never saw a drop). Had I a second chance, woulda went Mitsubishi, Daiken, or Pioneer.

Awful and hardly supported.

Worked great, for maybe a month or more. Eventually, getting some indoor units that want to leak down from the back. Checked drains, installers redid line sets, recharged to factory specs, no sane reason for what is happening. They cool great though, if you want to keep a towel down by certain units. Make matters worst, the only LG AC contractor within distance does not exist. Save yourself some potential headaches and go one up to a Mitsubishi or Daikon.

First LG unit, not the last

found the LG units a better install than the "cheaper" brands. very quite, as mentioned in previous reviews, instructions are a bit vague. luckily i am familiar with installation of hvac equipment. flare nuts that came with supply house mini split linesets did not like the LG indoor evaporators. all the suction line nuts leaked, along with 2 of the liquid line nuts. had to re flare and use new nuts and all was ok. still trying to figure out the details of the WIFI option would use LG again !!

Product Q&A

ASK A QUESTION

Q: Hello, I am interested in buying the 32k LG multi F inverter mini split system, with three heads. What is the warranty for this system? On some pages it shows 2 year parts 5 year compressor, while on others it says 5 years parts, 7 years compressor. The information is confusing. Can you clarify this, so that I can purchase with a well defined warranty? Thanks
