Features:
- Provides ignition sequence, flame monitoring and safety shutoff for intermittent pilot central furnaces and heating appliances
- Provides 100 percent pilot gas shutoff if pilot fails to light; after 6-minute delay, trial for ignition is repeated. Ignition trial/delay sequence is repeated until the appliance lights or call for heat is removed
- For use with Natural or LP gas
- For use in single rod or dual rod/remote sense applications. Includes relay contacts for use with any intermittent pilot gas control string with maximum 1.0A pilot or 2.0A main valve rating; Honeywell VR8204, VR8304 or VR8345M combination gas control recommended
- Functional equivalent of S86, S8600, S8610 and S90 modules
- Includes spark cable adapters to allow field replacement of both Honeywell and competitive controls without replacing existing spark cable

Perfect replacement
I replaced an old UT Electronics model 1003-513 controller. I did not see this in the cross reference as a replacement but it works great. I set the pre-purge to 30 sec as required for my Weil McLain CGI and 15 sec trial for ignition.
If you follow the instructions provided by Honeywell with the unit you will not have any problems. It clearly states how you connect to TH-W with the switched 24v. The only time you would use the 24v connection is if you are using an electronic damper. If no damper, do not use the 24v connection. Do not jumper the 24v to TH-W as I have read in other reviews.

Not a drop-in and watch it start item.
Product works good once I was able to get it functioning. Its was designed to fit anything,but, I had to build a new bracket to get this item to fit my unit. Directions were poorly written. They were written to remind someone how it should go in not for how to my application.

Exactly what I need!
Found myself without heating at 5F, 4am ... wasn't fun at all. Was so thankful found the pilot on inventory and got it after 48hrs. On top of this price was by far best compared with other sellers!

Nice upgrade from Robertshaw
I decided to give this ignition controller a try after the Robertshaw 780-845 I installed in my water heater last year died almost a year to the day. I do love the extra diagnostic feedback this unit provides especially the amount of micro amps that the flame sensor ground wire is actively sensing. One word of caution, all the spade terminals on this unit are 1/4". The PV solenoid wire on my water heater was 3/16" (with the rest being 1/4") so I need to buy a 3/16" male to 1/4" female adapter to make this work without modification for that singular connection (you could also chop off the connector and recrimp with a 1/4" faston connector). I got the gender bender from a local Batteries Plus type store that often has to adapt between those two sizes on various rechargeable batteries.

Yes, the Honeywell S8610U3009 is a replacement for the Honeywell S86H1006 intermittent pilot control. It can also be used on most Robertshaw, Johnson, and UTEC models.
