We don't recommend it. The heater is not approved for use in space-heating applications. Aside from that, electric domestic water heater generally do not have fast enough recovery for space-heating jobs and their elements may not react well with glycol.
On-demand water heaters are not rated with an estimated annual cost. The Tempra 36 PLUS draws 36 kW/hour at full load, so you can multiply your average weekly usage by your kWh rate by 52 to determine a rough figure. Keep in mind that 36 kW is a full load rate and the heater modulates to lower amperages when possible.
The Tempra 36 Plus is energy efficient compared to a tank water heater, only drawing power when needed. Over the long run, it will save you energy.
Tankless water heaters are sized based on peak GPM (gallons per minute) demand. A standard shower requires 2.5 GPM. If you have two showers running at the same time, for example, you would need a unit that provides 5 GPM.
The Stiebel Eltron Tempra 36 PLUS Electric Tankless Water Heater is designed to supply a cold climate home with 3 washrooms ample hot water. In a warm climate it can supply 4 washrooms.
According to the specifications below, the Tempra 36 requires a minimum of 300A electrical service. The unit will be sized based on your GPM requirements. It can produce a maximum of 4.5 gallons of hot water per minute. http://www.stiebel-eltron-usa.com/techdata_tempranew.html
