You can connect two MVAs to the same zone. If the pump keeps running, we would recommend that you check your wiring. If it looks good, you probably have a defective control.
That configuration should be okay. You may need to change to a bigger fuse based on the draw.
After calling local distributor, they gave me some trouble shooting tips, I have 4 zones, 3 thermostats, 2 MVA's tied together. 3 or maybe all 4 MVA's failed at one time, no heat, intermittent operation from one of the MVA's, at first I believed that my board had failed, but now I am sure all the old MVA's failed. I disconnected all but 1 MVA's and started form there. They tell me they have never replaced a board yet, but lots of MVA's. I plan to order the new style plastic snap-on Thermal Actuators. Thanks for getting back so fast.
The wires should go to R1 and R2.
If you are looking to add just one zone, use the 3 zone controller: SKU #: A3030003 .
Yes, you can use only the two zones off the unit if that is all you need. You would simply just wire the zones you are using. This is a valid way of using the unit and should not cause any issues if you are wiring it for only two zones.
