40 Gal - 40,000 BTU Defender Safety System Atmospheric Vent Energy Saver Water Heater, w/ Optional Top T&P (Nat Gas)

Replacing a well used American heater with a top mounted T&P I did not find a model with a similar location except with the Bradford White as most are side mounts. Well without having to plumb a new run behind the heater with proper slope to connect into my existing wall connection this model reduced new copper pipe costs and TIME. I was looking for a replacement waterheater for my Rheem Fury. This one matched the dimensions that I needed and had good numbers for energy efficency, although not qualified as "energy star." It also has Magnesium Anode but not seperate hex head but as part of Hot Water Outlet. I am not sure if that is better or not. I had a plumber install it which took 1 hour and 15 minutes, since I had already turned off and drained the old water heater the night before (highly recommended). The drain has an odd handle and I am not sure how it works, although with the Hydrojet® Total Performance System - Cold water inlet sediment reducing device (Which is supposed to help prevent sediment build up in tank and increases first hour delivery of hot water while minimizing temperature build up in tank) it is not supposed to require routine draining to clear out sediment. We'll see. Water is HOT! There is no vacation setting but lowest one works. Instructions are not clear on what temperature settings, "LOW", "HOT", "A," "B," and "C" and " "Very Hot" mean, but Hot is just that. I had to wait 4 months to get the top T&P Relief Valve since that is how my old one was installed. I believe this one is better than those on sale at the box stores.
