2 Heat/1 Cool Non-Programmable Thermostat - Builder Series

Unit is installed in my Son's home, running a 4 ton Self-contained heat pump. He had problems with it being so efficient,(SEER 14) that unit would not run long enough to remove humidity. With this unit it is easy to set the temperatures within unit to 2-3 degrees lower, for the cut out temp. This way if you set the temperature to 75 in summer with the change set to 2 degrees lower than what is set on unit face , pump will run until it reaches 73, thus running long enough to remove excess humidity, without having to set temp. very low, which makes it too cold in the house. Works great.

The differential setting on both units I've owned have failed to work properly. They can be set in a range of 0.5 - 2.0 degrees but both units will only do 1 degree. This has caused more cycling and raised my electric bills to the highest I've ever paid. The first unit I owned worked fine for a year or more and then started failing so I replaced it with a second one but the second one was doing the same thing right out of the box! Needless to say I don't recommend this stat to anyone.
