They Honeywell Aquastat Relay (L8148E1265) provides total convenience and control for a range of installations. This is an immersion-type controller that combines high limit protection with switching relay control of the burner and circulator motors. The Honeywell L8148E1265 Aquastat Immersion Controller Relay is available with horizontal and vertical mounting cases.

It works but it's noisy.
The old unit on my furnace stopped initiating the burner flame. This unit solved that problem with easy, straight forward installation instructions. However, the relay chatters during the heating cycle. If this shortens the life of the unit, it's a loser. And the chatter has become background noise when I'm in hearing range.

Q: i have an L8148E1257 installed currently. The service tech is specifying a replacement as L8148E1265. Whats the difference? Also - when replacing is it an absolute MUST that I use an adapter well?

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffL8148E1265 has a high limit operating range of 180-240 degrees and includes a molex plug for use with a vent damper. L8148E1257 has a high limit operating range of 140-240 degrees and does not include a molex plug for use with a vent damper. Q: I have a very old gas boiler with a Honeywell L8148E (no additional 4 digits) aquastat which gets the water to boiling, despite being at the lowest temp setting, causing my boiler to clank. Which L8148E would be the proper replacement for my system that has 2 low volt wires from the bank of zone valves, L1, L2, a 120v circulator pump, and 2 low volt wires to the gas valve? There is no damper control.
