Rinnai is #1 for a reason.
My wife and I were in need of a tankless water heater to make room for a iron filtration system in our very small mechanical room. I spoke with many experts to see what they prefer. Most recommended either Rinnai, AO Smith, or Navien. After much deliberation we decided to purchase the Rinnai RUC98IN and we are so happy we did. The installation and startup was very easy and we have been problem free for 9 months so far. We can run the shower, dishwasher, and washing machine all at the same time with no hot water shortages! I would also highly recommend the Rinnai Condensing Vent pipe if your application allows.

Replaced my electric tank water heater to save money and floor space. Chose this unit based on friends and neighbors with rinnai units. They all swear by them and now so do I. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so the piping took me a little extra time. Definitely a full day, more if you have to run new vent piping, which I did.

Product is great
I replaced my standard tank water heater with this Rinnai tankless. It has been installed for over a month now and is working perfectly. My installation involved quite a change to the plumbing (natural gas, hot and cold water lines), adding an electrical outlet, and replacing the vent piping through the roof, so know the building codes and be prepared. I also added the bath fill remote controller (BC-100V-1W) and my wife uses it every night to fill her tub to 110 degrees.

Tankless Heater
I installed this unit about 2 weeks ago with some friends who had previously installed some time ago. It went smooth as can be. It replaced 3 tanked water heaters and I could not be happier. It's an all day project and you should research install before attempting.
