The FVIR-compliant ProLine 50-Gallon Direct Vent Natural Gas Water Heater is to designed to draw air from outside the home, eliminating problems caused by insufficient indoor ventilation. The unit has horizontal air intake and venting on all models up to 80” from the outside wall with no electrical power needed.
Featuring a 50-gallon (nominal) tank and a 47,000 BTU gas burner, the GDVT-50 Direct Vent delivers a first hour rating of 83 gallons and a recovery rate of 51 gallons per hour. It carries a 6-year limited tank warranty, and meets Low NOx emission requirements.
Environmentally-friendly insulation and factory-installed heat trap nipples reduce heat loss for maximum energy savings.
This ProLine water heater is designed with A. O. Smith's superior commercial-grade tank protection. Advanced tank features include stainless steel CoreGard anode rod, Blue Diamond glass lining and DynaClean automatic sediment-cleaning system, all designed to help protect the tank from the corrosive effects of water and extend the life of the water heater.

Good product - terrible shipping partner
I was happy with my initial purchase but coordinating with the delivery company was a nightmare. When I bought it, I arranged for free delivery on a truck with a lift gate since weighs over 200 lbs. when the freight company called to arrange delivery, they hah no record of liftgate delivery. A call to Supply House led to two quick emails to the fright company. When I called them back, they couldn't find emails. Bottom line - they delivered it on a truck with a coincidentally broken lift gate, dropped it taking it off the truck and it has a big vent in the upper outside housing.
