Description
The Grundfos UPS26-99FC is a 3-speed cast iron circulator pump with built-in flow check. 3 speeds (Low/Med/High) of the Grundfos UPS26-99FC make this model very versatile and allow to use it in a large variety of heating applications including radiant, hydronic, radiators, fan coils, etc. A built-in flow check eliminates the need to buy and install a separate in-line check valve. This circulator is designed for closed loop systems with medium to high flow rates and pressure drops. A built-in automatic resetting thermal protection of the pump assures motor safety and extends circulator's life.

Pipe flange determines pipe size. Pump is installed on whatever flange you needd JHP from my S3
Flange match, not the pipe. I have hydronic heat and the local plumbers don't stock the pump. So it is no heat and then at least twice the Internet price for the pump when they get it. I just keep one in stock. Pat Artis Sent from my iPad

Q: I have a UPS 26-99FC that I used in a closed system. Can I use in my new open system before heat exchanger?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffCast iron circulators like this one should only be used where there will be no fresh oxygen present (i.e. the closed-loop side of the heat exchanger).
Q: I HAVE AN OUTDOOR WOOD BOILER WITH THIS PUMP. WHAT WOULD BE THE IDEAL SPEED SETTING ANDHOW MANY GAL/MIN DOES EACH SETTING PROVIDE. DO I NEED THE CHECK VALVE ON THIS OPEN SYSTEM BOILER? THANKS

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThe pump curve displayed on page 3 of the manual linked below shows the flow rate capabilities of this circulator at various head pressure ratings for each of the 3 speeds. The check valve may not be necessary in this application, as its primary purpose is to prevent heat from flowing to zones that are not calling for heat. Q: I have a 5 zone heating system. Will this pump automatically change speeds to accommodate the need to heat more zones? If not how do I know which speed is the best for lowest power consumption but also best performance?
