6 QuestionsQ: Is there an advantage to useing the V8043E1061 over the V8043E1012 in residesial heating application?

Verified Reply- Hello Charlie, The -1012 looks to have a higher pound maximum closeoff pressure (20 lbs. vs. 8 lbs.), but aside from that, there is not too much of a difference.
Q: I have three valves. One doesn't open and 'hums' witha static like hum when it calls to open. Does this sound like a motor that needs to be replaced?

Test the voltage at the valve, if you have the correct voltage then you need to replace the head. If voltage is bad you have an issue with the furnace electronics. Sent from my iPhone
I would try to open the valve manually, if it will open, then the motor is probably bad, and needs replacing. If the valve is stuck, then probably the whole thing
Q: I have 7 of the V8043E1061 valves installed 3 out of these are stuck open/not working. The queston I have - can the "guts" of the valve be installed without removing the old housing and having to re-sweat the new valve in.

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffYou can do this. Part 40003916-026 is the entire replacement power head, 802360JA is the motor, and 272742A is the replacement rubber ball/o-ring set.
Disclosure, I am not a plumber. I replaced two old zone valves with essentially the same model. I left the pipes intact and only replaced the box/motor. There were shutoffs on either side of the values which made this simple. I have had no issues in 9 months.
The answer to your question is yes, but it is probably the operator rather than the internal parts. I have hundreds of these valves in service and failure is very rare. Is it possible that you are exceeding the max pressure differential of the valve with too big of a pump? Bigshrub
You should be able to buy the "guts" only and install. Easy if you put shut off' in before and after the valve. Are the current valves stuck open or do you have the manual override locked in? Sent from my iPhone
Q: I am a home owner. I have a different type of zone valve that failed. I bought a Honeywell V8043E1061. It does not match the 2 wire installation of the previouse zone valve. I have a 24volt system. There are 4 wires coming out of the new zone valve. Does anyone have a wiring diagram that I can have? Or can I get one on line.

2 wires are for the motor. 2 wires are for a microswitch that closes when the valve is open. If you take the cover off, it is fairly obvious which wire go to which device.
The 4 wires are 2 for the motor 2 for an end switch. You should be able to disregard the 2 for the end switch. For a wiring diagram go to honeywells website. If I remember they are color coded for different items.
Q: what does the maximum close off pressure mean. Will it work on a system with 15psi, such as a normal home heating system

Yes. The 15 lbs. Is the pressure on the system and would appear no each side of the valve, thus the valve differential pressure is zero. The close off pressure is what the circulation pump is producing. Typically very low. Lost somewhere in America.

Yes it will work on a "normal" 15 PSI system, as long as the differential pressure across the valve is less than 8PSI, when closed. Fred () _ () _ () _ () .
It means the maximum flow of water through the valve when it will still be able to function normally. This valve is intended for what you describe, a normal hot water heating system.
