Works very well
Retrofitted two of these in my hydronic heating system, coupled with a Honeywell controller. The system was built with pumps that do not isolate the water heater and one other zone when turned off (the heat continues to flow driven by the main circulator pump). By using these units I was able to eliminate this problem. It is important to note that this valve does not impede the flow to the heating loops to any noticeable degree (my water still heats very quickly), and that it can handle the higher heat needed for a hydronic system ... many valves do neither of the above.
If you are not a professional or experienced plumber, I suggest that you fully dismantle the valve, removing the rubber seal sphere before sweating it in. The body has a lot of mass and requires quite a bit of heat and for an amateur like me this is the safest bet (otherwise I am pretty sure I would have burned the rubber and ruined the valve). Dismantling is just a few screws so pretty easy. The only thing to watch is that the actuator is spring loaded (normally closed) so you need to be sure to "wind" the spring to the right position (as it was when it was dis-assembled). I installed two this way and everything went well.
These units have been running constantly for about a year now with no problems (I just purchased a third to keep as a backup as these are now critical parts of my system).

I sprayed mine with lithium grease (I don't know if in the long run that's the best lubricant to use, not the point), but that fixed the problem...
Now the gear/teeth run smoother, pull the lever off the switch to signal the circulator pump to turn off as it should.

Some on the web do talk about vaseline and lubrication at fixing these and yes, when the end switch goes, and so the motor stops running allowing the spring to pull the value closed, the gear/teeth indicated sticks.
I sprayed mine with lithium grease (I don't know if in the long run that's the best lubricant to use, not the point), but that fixed the problem...
Now the gear/teeth run smoother, pull the lever off the switch to signal the circulator pump to turn off as it should.

Heat is back on in the floor
The valve that supplied radiant heat to the garage in our mountain home was not opening. That meant all of the water lines that run through the basement to the house were at risk with the coming winter. I ordered two valves to have an extra and they both came within a few days and were exactly what i needed. Great service and great product. .

Good price for product
Valve work good and was easy to install if you know how to solider brass to copper.
Direction have several wiring diagrams for different system.
So just pay attention it will be one there to fit your needs.
The end switch is a nice feature to operate the pump control.so you won't dead head the flow.
Mine are working like they should. I buy the valves again.
