Description

This R410A unit is no longer manufactured as per the AIM Act of 2020. While replacement parts are available for repairs, a new unit will require replacing the entire system to support the new A2L R32 refrigerant.

Please visit our Mini Split Air Conditioners for system selection or reach out to Customer Care Team Contact Us for assistance.

Note: This unit requires the use of either 1 or 2 branch distribution boxes to connect with compatible indoor units. If using 2 Branch distribution boxes, the Y Branch kit PMBL5620 is also required.

LG heat pump systems consist of three basic components: An inverter (variable speed) outdoor heat pump, stylish and quiet indoor units, and a conduit with piping and wiring to connect the outdoor unit to each indoor unit. Multiple indoor units allow precise indoor temperature control throughout your home and provide the ability to adjust the temperature in each area to meet your needs.

LG Multi F whole-home comfort systems provide powerful, efficient heating and cooling with up to eight indoor units operating off a single outdoor unit. In fact, most combinations are ENERGY STAR® Certified. Individual room temperature control with low operating cost are at your fingertips with LG Multi F.

Installation is easy and does not require major renovations – the pipes connecting your outdoor unit to the indoor units are small and easy to run throughout your house. Your contractor can usually install a whole home system in just a few days start-to-finish and adding an additional indoor unit down the road is simple and cost-effective. Using three or more indoor units is more cost-effective and uses less space than installing three individual single-zone systems.

As always LG is great

Installed this one on new construction 5 zones. 4 ceiling cassettes and one wall mount. 2 branch distribution boxes. Works awesome! And it draws 15A. Sweeeeeet.

I wouldn't recommend this product.

All other mini split units I've used in the past connect the Freon lines directly to the power unit. This unit requires distribution branches. Plan to spend $800 more to be able to use this product. After it was all connected by a licensed electrician, it still doesn't work.

website did not list that you need additional parts

I have installed several other brands of Mini split units and all Freon lines always connected directly to the outdoor unit. This LG condenser requires distribution boxes to connect individual indoor units. The website does not state this. After receiving and installing units, I found that there was only 1 pair of Freon connectors and then had to spend $600.to buy 2 distribution boxes to connect lines. After completing installation, unit seems to work fine.

Three Months In

This unit is Installed with three heads, two wall mounts (12K & 18K BTU and one ceiling cassette (18k BTU). I have had this unit running now in both cooling and heating modes and it works well in both. In cooling mode at the lowest power input it is near impossible to hear the noise from this unit as it putters along. In heating mode it is slightly more noticeable in noise, but puts out the heat very well (I have only tested down to 26F degrees as it is the second week of Oct.). The unit is a bit of a mystery on its operation logic at times, which has led me to a slower learning curve on minimizing the electrical consumption and maximizing comfort, especially coming from a central heating/cooling system. I am in the very northern part of Wisconsin where temperatures easily dip below -20F during January and February and this unit is only documented to -4F so it is a secondary heat source. My only real concern is with the base pan design and condenser coils as the base pan contacts the very bottom of coil fins. I will have to watch the effectiveness of the base pan heater, sold separately, in removing ice buildup from the base pan as their really is no margin of error with ice puncturing the coils, but I did place the unit 14 inches off the ground so I hopefully have enough room for glacier development outside of the unit.
