Q: Is this valve normally closed only or can it be switched to normally open? Is this valve for closed loop systems only?

The MVA is normally closed only. The valve can be used in a closed or open loop system.

It opens the manifold seat with a 24 volt signal with a spring closed return when power is taken away. So power only opens it, power can't close it. The end switch has "dry" normally open/closed terminals. It is wired for normally open. You have to do some soldering if you want to change it. You can use it for closed or open systems. Note: These valves have problems with the end switches malfunctioning over time.

Normally closed. I think it should work with any system. Stephenne

No it can not be switched... It is what it is. Sent from my iPhone

Sorry second question... It is a valve, as far as I know it does not care if the loop is closed or open... It's going to open or close with out being influenced by the design of the system. As long as you have a 24volt control circuit. Sent from my iPhone
