Recommend to anyone with forced air & dry air in the winter.
I've installed a LOT of these humidifiers over the year being an HVAC technician. The automatic control take the old-days' era of turning the humidity up & down as the temperatures change. Easy to install, with the right tools and knowledge. I especially like the auto fan feature that allows you to humidify even when the system is not heating. Best humdification with hot water hook up. Best of all these are American made in Madison, WI!

Wastes 75% of the Water
Any water that doesn't evaporate as it runs over the media goes down the drain! How hard is it to use a tray, float, and pump setup to recirculate that water? Not hard since I'm making my own now. Based on the specs for this unit over 75% of the water used will go down the drain. If it runs 24 hours a day it will use 72 gallons. Not only is that a lot of wasted water but if you plan to use RO water to reduce build up on the media it's a show stopper. I'm amazed at a the lack of basic good design in this area of the market, not just this one brand.

High quality humidifier for the home
The Aprilaire 600 is doing a great job. Installation was straight forward and fairly easy for a mechanically inclined person. Instructions from the mfg were light but with their phone support the problem was resolved easily. Supply House quickly replaced a faulty transformer. So far the humidifier is working well.

Humidity level is perfect on high heat days
No more cracking feet, dry hands and eyes. Have only had a couple heavy heat days so still finding the perfect setting but it is very easy to adjust.
