- Vitraglas Lining - An exclusively engineered enamel formula that provides superior tank protection from the highly corrosive effects of hot water. This formula (Vitraglas) is fused to the steel surface by firing at a temperature of over 1600º F.
- Insulation System - Non-CFC foam covers the sides and top of the tank, reducing heat loss. This results in less energy consumption, improved efficiencies, and jacket rigidity.
- Water Connections - 3/4" NPT factory-installed true dielectric fittings extend water heater life and simplify water line connections.
- Factory Installed Heat Traps - Design incorporates a flexible disk that reduces heat loss in piping and eliminates the potential for noise generation.
- Protective Magnesium Anode Rod - Provides added protection against corrosion for long trouble-free service.
- Simultaneous and Non-Simultaneous Operation Available - Simultaneous operation indicates when both elements (if equipped) are being heated at the same time. Non-Simultaneous operation indicates when one element is being heated at a time.

Bradford White 50 Gal Electric Water Heater
After about 11 years my previous Electric water heater were showing signs of wear and failure; Leaky Pressure Valve, Water evident on the basement floor and even leakage around the top of the tank. In looking for a replacement I was looking for a top rated product made i the U.S. I wasn't really happy with the brands the big box stores were carrying so I went on line and did some research and found that the Bradford White products had very good reviews and were made in the U.S. I ordered the fd50 Gal Upright Electric Heater from Supply House and after a few miss ques on delivery my tank finally came. It arrived in perfect condition and I arranged for installation with my plumber. Since I had an Electric Tank prior there was no need to do any rewiring or upgrade breakers and there were just some minor plumbing efforts because of the tank being about 4 inches taller than the previous one. The tank went in and was powered on and I had hot water within 30 minutes. I am very happy thus far with the performance of my Bradford White tank. I purchased it for reliability and longevity so we will see how it performs over the next 10-15 years!

My water heating cost went up 50% and the temp is too cold
I had a 1989 AOS water heater. Replaced it several weeks ago with a RE250T6. Both 50 gallon. No a/c in my home, and the temps have been steady and hot (mid to upper 90s).
My smart meter shows that the new BW is costing me 50% more than my old unit. Thirty one years later and BW can't match the efficiency of my old water heater. Truly PATHETIC.
Sadly, the water isn't as hot, either. Even at the "very hot" setting I can't get tap water above 110 F three feet from the unit. In the middle of a heat wave. The back bathroom is lukewarm to the point the shower is unusable.
Who knows what "very hot" temp is. What a shoddy and disreputable way to do a thermostat, I guess BW doesn't care if their customers get legionella.

my 3rd BW 50 gal electric
Our condo bylaws require each apartment water heater replaced every 10 years and it usually happens between 10-15 years. I currently have the re250t6-1ncww 50 gal. All are professionally installed by state licensed plumbers. In all this time, none have ever leaked or failed to function, they are replaced based on age. Our building has almost 500 of these installed and never a problem. I do not know if other folks issues stem from self install or we receive commercial grade as they are sourced by the plumbers themselves. It has been bullet proof for our building.

R.I.P. Twenty Two Years Old Bradford White
Not a typo. My Bradford White of the same exact model finally started to leak after 22 years (twenty two) of service. The new one was an exact duplicate in quality of build and dimensions and slipped right in. When I had done an internal inspection of it five years ago the sidewalls looked perfect. I had a small amount of sediment on the bottom that I didn't know how to remove and I'm pretty sure that that is where it started to leak. The sacrificial anode was only half spent. I expect the same performance from this one.

This unit replaces a Bradford White water heater I had for 25 + years. Hopefully the new unit will perform as well. Note: The freight company was helpful to unload; however, they only deliver to the curb. Be prepared to handle once recieved.

High quality fit great
You can't beat Bradford White. Was able to fit this in a tight closet due to its small diameter. This model has a seperate anode so you are able to add a 2nd electric anode to the hot water outlet.

Quality Water Heater
Haven't opened the box yet, but Bradford White makes a quality product. I've heard of these going 20 years if you drain the sediment periodically. We do each tiome we change the furnace filter.
