Taco 007 F5 pumps
I replaced an older boiler about 9 years ago with a Weil-McLain WGO-5. At the same time I also installed an Amtrol hot water booster tank. Since then I put in a Modine heater on its own separate zone for the cellar. To complete what I had started back in 2007 I needed to replace the old tired corroded zone pumps (4 of them). They were never installed correctly with isolation ball valves above and below with their own drains. So, four new Taco pumps later done with a proper installation a proper installation and my boiler is 100% !!! Very happy with the parts and fast delivery !

Good warranty
I just installed my third Taco 007-F5 circulator pump, after the second pump failed after one year of use. The first pump lasted for three years, so it was out of warranty coverage, but I received a new pump to replace the second one, which was still under warranty. I intend to keep a spare pump on hand, since it provides hot water to the heating system for my house.

Q: I have a Taylor Outdoor Wood Stove that has two Taco Model 0011-F3 pumps on it and have had no problem in over 15 years with them. I am getting ready to help my son install a similar stove at his house and was wondering if a less expensive unit such as the Taco 007-F4 or F5 may be a good alternative or if you may have any other suggestions. Also I am unable to find any information on the 0011-F3 online. Has it been replaced by one with a different number?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThe 0011-F4 is the newer model number for that pump. Circulator pumps must be sized based on the GPM and head pressure of the system. 007 pumps are considerably weaker than 0011 models, especially when it comes to head pressure. That said, a 007 could work depending on the system's requirements.

Q: My 007-F5 cirulator draws "0" amps when energized. I verified the voltage at the motor as I checked the current draw with a digital clamp-on ammeter. I have tested the motor capacitor and it's good. Should I replace the entire motor (with cartridge) or simply replace the cartridge?

Q: Can this be hooked up to a thermostat so that it only pumps when the water is a certain temperature (or higher)? I want to use it for radiant floor heating and the source will be a solar hot water tank.

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThe 007 is a maintenance-free pump that is lubicated by water. Oil will not help. If the pump is noisy, the internal cartridge assembly may need to be replaced, or the system has to be re-purged.
