This is my 3rd one in 32 years, So if I get another 16 years out of this one I'll be good. They really don't go bad just get beat up on the tip and sometimes I'll get solder down inside of it. I will heat it up and get it out and take it apart and clean orifice and swirler, but after awhile they just don't burn right. I only burn mapp gas and have brazed 1/2" copper with it. The swivel tip makes it easy to get into the right position I've used several of the self ignition torch and this is hands down better. I even use this to light those PIA trailer furnaces, can't do that with those bulky or stubby non-swiveling torches.

I replaced my 35 yr old turbo torch. This is fancier, hotter and quicker to sweat fittings. Great torch.

I had been using a cheapo bernzomatic for DIY projects, but its regulator was beginning to fail and I thought I'd upgrade to something better. I can't believe I ever worked with that old torch! The difference is apparent immediately: this thing is so eager to light, it takes one strike of my ignitor and it's ready to go. It seems to burn much hotter than my old torch, with the same propane tank. I'm having an easier time soldering 3/4" fittings with this than 1/2" fittings with the old torch. Don't waste your time with cheap torches. Buy this and you will have one less thing to worry about.
