MARS up/down outdoor condenser fan motors are designed for either vertical
shaft-up or shaft-down applications. Shell and end shields are enclosed for
weather protection. A weep hole is provided in each end shield to allow
condensate to drain. All of these motors are suitable for air conditioning or heat
pump applications.

Excellent generic fan motor
I used this motor to replace the bad (open winding) fan motor in my 4ton Carrier AC unit. The shaft is much longer than the original but there's plenty of room for it in my unit so I left it long. There's a separate pair of wires for the capacitor instead of the original 3-wire (one common) arrangement but that's OK. I went ahead and mounted the fan to the grille and pulled the reversing wires up through the grid so I could easily change the direction if it was wrong when I first energized the motor. It was. I switched the wires and tucked them down thru the grille. Easy.
