This pump is not a valid cross over to the 0014 Taco pump. The pump you should be looking at is the UPS26-99FC (SKU: 52722512) which you can use instead of the Taco 0014 pump.
The wiring information for this unit can be located here: http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/1284664874016/39257_PROD_FILE.pdf . No, this pump can not be programmed to turn on at the highest speed possible. This is a manual 3 speed pump, so you would have to manually adjust the setting for which speed you want the unit to be running at. What you seem to be looking for is an automatic variable speed pump, which we do not carry. Also there are only 3 speed or 1 speed pumps, so unfortunately no pump would match the specifications you are looking for.
The check valve prevents flow when the pump is not on. It is useful in heating systems, so we normally recommend the pumps with the integral flow check as it is a preventive measure to prevent water from flowing when there is no call for it.
The flange size needed is dependent upon the size of the pipe to which the pump is connecting. For example, if you are connecting to 3/4" pipe, a 3/4" iron pump flange (SKU: 519601) would be necessary. Alternatively, if you are connecting to 1" pipe, a 1" iron pump flange (SKU: 519602) would be needed.
